The Dawn of Youth (A Poem)

Dawn of Youth Photo

Buccaneers slip through the woolly passages of time

Tender hooks sway in the midnight breeze of rhythm

Far off voices echo the rusty past

Of a sailor’s long lost love

Mermaid, bring me thine eyes on a silver platter

And forever glisten in the womb of the earth

Achelous swept onto the mire

A beacon of light on a foggy morn

Off in the distance

Tremors from Hercules cracks the drought covered earth

Growing from the volcanic ash

Is the awareness of youth

Pan in all his glory is playing music for the sprites

As they twirl and dance

To the rhythm of dawn’s bright hue

Forever we will go

Forever will we dwell
